Seismo App Reviews
Very nice app!!
Very interesting
Very easy and straightforward. Would like to see the world map a bit bigger and an option to switch between standard and metric values. Well done app.
Good and Accurate!
The only thing lacking is an iPhone version.
The landscape for Earthquake app’s for the Mac is scarce to say the least, I like this one so far and I would be interested in when the next update will be out for 2014?, thanks.
Great !
This is exactly what i needed, excellent productivity tool.
It’s not worth the download. The screen shot is a bit misleading, suggesting there is some connection between the map image and text. There is no real interactivity or sense of immediacy with the app. It’s not an app; it’s actually just a table of recent seismological readings and events coupled with a link to a U.S. Geological Survey report of the quake. I didn’t have to pay for this “app," and yet I still feel duped.
Seismo is top end for its intended purpose
This app is an exceptionally well thought out piece of low overhead software. I am a geologist and volcanologist, so seismology plays an important part in my work. Having such a quick response program, that I can even set to act as an alarm for a quake that is closer than a distance I configure into it, is extremely useful. If you highlight a quake in the output listing, and hit the “Info” button, you will get all the particulars about the quake, and the popup window with that information also had a button to display a map of its location, and another button to open your browser to display the locaiton map in it. That someone rated Seismo with only one star indicates to me he has little or no knowledge of Seismology. It is not intended to be used as a seismograph display app, but as a very quick source of innformation that can be of great help in accessing the most important info about a given quake almost instantly. Last night we had a magnitude 6.5 quake that was 40 miles NE of my ranch property in central Idaho, and this little program was very useful to me to almost instantly access information about that quake and the aftershocks that are still taking place a day later. All I can say to the author is , "thank you Michal.” :-) My only negative comment is that the latest update will no longer let me use it on High Sierra. Because I have a number of very useful programs that are not being updated to support the OS versions above High Sierra, I have chosen to stay with this OS for now. I wish the updates didn't exclude us High Sierra users who were eliminated from being able to use the newer Mac operating systems. I feel that way especially about Seismo Ron
Those who look it over before they rate...
Will find it bundled with a lot of features that make it well worth their time
Science
Let’s talk science. Yes, great app and it shows you what happened, and I mean just now. We had a 5.4 nearby (200 miles) and bingo!, there it is! I felt it so by the time I opened my Mac it was posted. If you want music, try iTunes. If you want color and bling, go downtown on Black Friday. If you live on planet earth and want to have a good list of earthquakes, use Seisomo. It’s great! Thanks for the app.
You get what you pay for with this free app

Great app, data is true and useable.
